What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

I've only had one auto Cougar and thought it really suited the car and wasn't much slower than the manual, good to see your getting it the way you want it Andy but you will still get asked what it is 😂
 
tbh tilly the auto in s mode and if u kick her down is just as fast imo.. but slower on launch.

the auto seems to have more torque too ive noticed....probably due to the torque doubler in the converter.
one other thing, the rpm when cruising at speed is a lot lower than suzi at say 70mph.. i dont know the ratio's but defo lower at the top speeds.

in my opinion the auto is better for long journeys and is my car of choice for my yearly stay at senna, cornwall.
much easier to drive and much more hassle free.. especially in traffic.

i love the auto and certainly wouldn't be put off buying one

but then tilly has had some massive improvements done on the whole engine intake etc so she is a different beastie... :LOL:

The 1989 (to 1997) Thunderbird, 140bhp 3.8 V6 and presumably the 200bhp+ 5.0 V8, 4.6 V8 and 210bhp/230bhp 3.8 V6 supercharged, all 1000rpm per 36mph, 2000rpm @ 72mph (auto overdrive). Much lower than any other car I've driven including the Cougar.

Long time since I've made a post, but sourced some C2 seats and a set of 35th Anniversery Edition covers from Poland of all places. Had them professionally fitted to the C2 bases. Fitted the rears to match. They look quite tidy, definitely improves the immersion.

I have the ST UIM, TB, snorkel, air box and even the wing intake. It’s a good few years since I fitted it.
I also have ST200 cams, Blue flame twin outlet exhaust which is far more free flowing than standard and have been known to run the de at pipe ( That has been removed recently ) Tubular inlet manifolds without the pre cats and link pipe are staying in place.
The EGR none sense has long been deleted. I have functional IMRC, relocated away from the heat of the exhaust manifold and it’s not that long ago I cleaned the the LIM to de carbon it.

I‘m also way too old to be a boy racer but I’m pretty darn sure she is a good bit more sprightly than when she first came into my care. I’ve never done a traffic light dice with another Cougar but it would be interesting to compare her to a standard car, more to see if I’ve wasted all the time and effort than anything else.

Find an Auto much nicer to drive on today's roads and mine seems to love hills 😁

:LOL: :LOL:no this was the one off suzi, tbh it was working fine but the rear bearing was noisy and caused a horrible droan noise at about 2k.

id already refurbed the old one i took off tilly the auto when i cleaned yours up.

ironically the noisy one on suzi originally came off melina as suzi's had cracked the main body when i got her.
