My Cougar

Just read through the whole thread. You're doing a terrific job there mate with some clever and unique mods - keep it up (y)

Thanks for the kind comments. I will post some more pics up once I have completed and fitted the headlining

This afternoon I made a start on my air vent surrounds. I sanded them down so the paint would key. I also sanded off the two circles for a smoother look. The good thing about the paint is its meant for alloy wheels and plastic hub caps so you do not need to prime. Just sand down the surface so it keys. I may not even lacquer them after. I have done all four just forgot to photograph one

Lol thanks for the compliment. My interior is slowly progressing. Almost stripped off all the foam to retrim the headlining so will post some pics soon

I decided to use rubbing compound to smooth the surface of the paint. I then switched to Poorboys SSR2.5 which made the air vent rings smooth down nicely with a nice subtle gloss effect

Right in regard to my retrimmed sunvisors do I do the creamish plastic bits black which dries a satin finish (still wet in quick snap) or do I do them Rover gunmetal grey to try and match the alcantara. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Also got all the bits for my front brake upgrade just waiting for the braided hoses and still need to clean up and paint calipers

I need to re trim my visors I found a nice ciggy burn in the drivers one, but mine have lights on either side of each mirror, so im not sure how much of a pain it would be ?

oh and good choice on going with the grey

Hello zer0 and thanks for the comment. I am guessing it would be a similar job to what I done. I originally put the alcantara over the original foam material but it did not look great. So I cut this off and stuck the alcantara straight to the cardboard which is all the sunvisor is made from. If you get stuck give me a shout and I will try and guide you as best I can. If not you could always try and get a spare sunvisor from someone off here or from a salvage yard.

Ah I see....nice job, I need to sort the exterior of mine first though before I even start on the inside

Best of luck on your project then zer0. As long as you take your time the retrimming is not too bad. I used Prefix heavy duty spray adhesive

Hello John wwfc did you get my pm? The brake upgrade is Mondeo MK3 calipers with new discs and pads. Also fitting braided hoses at the same time and will be cleaning up and painting the front and rear calipers red. Will look nice behind my gunmetal wheels once finished

Sorry John wwfc should add using the Mondeo MK3 set up is a 300mm brake upgrade as you use ST170 brake discs as the mondy mk3 ones are 5 stud. I personally think this brake upgrade would look fab behind your Focus RS wheels
