Cougar Spotting

Heard some sad news last night - you may remember this lovely Melina C1 local to me which has featured in this thread a couple of times:

Sadly, the chap who owned it passed away recently, and the car is currently up for sale on Facebook. Lucy had a brief chat with his daughter who posted the ad to pass on condolences - I mentioned that when he'd been spotted he would be singing away/drumming on the steering wheel, his daughter said that just going for a drive and having a singalong was one of his favourite things to do, bless him...

RIP

Um, I'm not on Facebook so I have no idea what she wants for it. Can anyone please clue me in because I would rather rescue a loved car (like Sally) than let it go to waste.

Huh. Look at me making poor decisions again!

For what it's worth, I think that the price is on the high-end of reasonable assuming it's been looked after. We shouldn't wish for these cars to be cheap.

But...

Ah, an auto. :(

A nice looking blurple came up for sale a few weeks ago near me it's now down to 2k from 2.5k, I'm still resisting it 😵‍💫😂

seriously u guys!
my tilly is an auto and workhorse and never given even a hint of gbox issues at 130k, if i had the money id have it.
i know they have had a bad rep but these auto's are the best and most easiest to drive on long journeys.
as much as i love the manuals i actually found myself wishing id taken tilly(auto) to pick up my missus from the airport(Stansted) the other day, thanks to the A14 being blocked with stop start traffic for about 8 miles.
don't judge the auto's so harshly ,they are a nice car to drive.

Agreed, 170,000 plus miles on the Amazon auto and no problems, I actively looked for an automatic as after only ever having manuals I came to the conclusion that today's road conditions make them a pain in the arse and the auto is a much better fit, I will never go back to using a clutch again
