Cougar Spotting

Spotted W reg Silver Cougar on the small Glastonbury roundabout, flashed and followed into B&Q car park for a brief chat as I was running tight on appointment time.

Owner, who lives in Stony Stratton, had the Cat from new, LH drive purchased whilst working in Germany. Had deliberately kept the car original.

Told him about this club and also about the large annual car show near Taunton...Thornfalcon Car Show........Andy I did send you an PM about this but my being rusty (unfortunate turn of phrase maybe), on this site and using PM, you may not have received? also the PM covered a web site for the SW.

Cheers.

Colin, I did receive your PM and will respond in due course, but as you might imagine, I've been a bit tied-up with Castle Combe this weekend. (y)

This time I flashed my lights and a palm was raised in response (y)

Tiger is W146KET. Given that numbers are usually allocated to dealers in blocks, I assume that this little beastie came from the same forecourt in Sheffield that she did, and probably within months of each other! That's cool.

25 registrations away. For a Ford main dealer, in the 1990s, that might have been the same day (with a batch of Fiestas, Mondeos, Pumas and Escorts between).

Investigated. VRM allocated the same day. A bunch of intermediate VRMs sent to a Honda dealer. Almost all the other cars in the range are MOT-expired.

I spotted a cougar today, which is quite unlike me really being out in the styx here. Actually I lie, it was my son in law who spotted it first.

Melina - Y908 PBH

It was parked in a yard along the coast road. DVLA says its SORNed which could mean bad news on the MOT front recently and potential deferred journey to the great autobahns in the sky shortly ( or even the local banger track ).

I wondered if some kind person could take a look at the DVLA info and tell me if this is a C2 based on engine size and date etc. I couldn't see the headlights and we were off quite quickly after slowing down to rubber neck it on the way back. TIA - Noel

Coast road; Norfolk or Suffolk?
If you could PM me location, if I'm that way sometime I could stop and check it out.

Just a thought, in my 'C2' brochure, Melina wasn't offered, only Frost, Amazon and black. Could make this quite rare.

A C2 based on engine size and year of manufacture.
VED CO2 based as first reg. is 01/03/2001.

According to ETIS it's actually a C1 with the X pack and a sunroof.
Build date was 05/08/99.

I can only assume DVLA list the engine size and year of manufacture to match a vehicle with a date of first registration in March 2001??

With apologies in advance for breaking the rules but I was amazed to see a Bristol heading along the M4 on Tuesday morn. I've never seen one ( of that particular shape before, fairly late one, more rounded than Blenheim) let alone cruising along. I doubt many others even noticed it.
