I don't know how warm/hot the tubes get when in use, do you know Rob? I could connect one of my spares up to a battery and check, you don't want the paint melting do ya :nonod:
I don't think the heat would be an issue but never gave it much thought tbh what I was more concerned about was whether the tint with the lights on would look a browny colour?.

The cathodes do not get that warm at all more the heat inside the lens from the main headlights I would think.

tint spray would crack under the headlight temps. the tubes themselves get heated up by the head light. Hence why they are really bright when they have warmed up
With a thin enough dusting they will, besides would prefer them to be dim like the beemers ones rather than insanely bright.

i'm going for ccfl only because it is seen in daylight. With leds - only at night and low beam off.
