RIP Chris

i cannot express how shocked and saddened i am to hear of this tragic news. Chris was a truely genuine bloke, with a great sense of humour and who always made people feel very welcome. he will be greatly missed by me. my thoughts go out to Tim.

I couldnt believe it when i heard this very sad news from ginja this morning.
I am shocked to say the least Chris was such a valued membrr of this club and a very good friend as Tim and Chris do not live very far from me and they both helped me with problems and parts.
I will always treasure the time i knew Chris and some of the conversations with him were memorable like the time he shown me his blue strobe lights at cougarfest and we both had such a great laugh at the likeness to a proper cop car etc.
My thoughts go out to Tim and Chris's family at this sad time.
We all have fab memories of him to remember always.
Still cant believe it.
R.I.P buddy.

Just stuck my head in on the forum and totally stunned to be reading about Chris, top fella who i met along with Tim many times at Cougarfests and a few more local meets.

Will always remember Chris and Tim for the Cougarfests when most of us slummed it in little one/two man tents and Chris and Tims tent was like a ten man mansion with every accessory that Millets ever sold !

Thoughts are with Tim and thier respective familes and will try my hardest and get my shift covered to attend the funeral

RIP Chris

I was thinking, on this forum you can select the transparent style for the forum layout and there is a pic of a Cougar, is there any chance Bobster could change the pic (even if its only for a short while) to one of Chris's car?

Take it to a new thread Matt, i agree what your saying but we don't want to get into system chat in here do we really. I'll clear this post when you re-post mate.

Just got reconnected to the Internet today after losing phone line in the strong winds last week and was really saddened to read this dreadful news. I have only met Chris the once, at Cougarfest 2011, and he struck me as a gent who would help anyone he could. He even took to my Grandson Ross and gave him a private viewing of his phenomenal Cougar light show on the Friday evening. I feel certain that his friendship, organisational prowess and overall good guy demeanor will truly and sadly be missed by everyone who knows him. God bless you Chris and Rest In Peace mate.

Just found this one in my collection from Bath last year, you can't really make Chris out, but he was driving his pride and joy.

Happier times, taken at The Modified Nationals in 2011, think we all had a great weekend, this is how I will remember Chris, our favourite part of the year with our friends at a well organised and fun weekend.

I have locked the other threads so they do not become jumbled and we can keep the memories in one thread. Also if you want to switch to the transparent theme I have done a small tribute

A long day of emotion for me. It was a sight to see so many people come from the four corners of England and also Scotland to send off a good friend. It also reminds me how much of an extended family this club has become. We surpass all the other clubs with the way we conduct ourselves and I am proud to be at the helm of it.

I think Chris would have been smiling to see how we sent him on his journey.. You all did him proud.

A few pictures from the pub.

A day of hugely contrasting emotions.

Tim was a credit to Chris today in the way he conducted himself.

The turn out from this family was outstanding. From Scotland (nice one Dick) to the south west, south coast, midlands, east coast.....i could go on.

The flowers were brilliant....thanks for organising that Kully. The ribbons were superbly prepared for everyone on arrival, along with the pics of Chris....excellent work from Matt and RichB.

I had time today to chat to most people, including six hours in the car with Rob - thanks for the lift dude.

I have said it elsewhere and I have said it to people directly, but this is not a car club....it's friends who own the same car.

I was proud today. I was sad, I cried, I smiled, I laughed.

It was nice to catch up with old friends and put faces to names of many others, all of whom were oustanding people.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house during the ceremony....during which it was clear just how much this family played a part in Chris' life.

I still have two pm's in my in-box from Chris sent just days before his tragic death.

I don't profess to have been Chris' closest friend on this forum, but thought the world of the bloke and spent an extremely enjoyable evening with him and many others at Blackpool last year when I got to know him and Tim a lot better.

Today also reminded me of the fact that there is some humanity left in the world, with 99 per cent of other road users assisting our outstanding convoy on its way to and from the crematorium.

I think Al said to me it was like i'd had a word with the local plod to take care of that side of things for us.

The site of the car park at The Leopard was wonderful. We did wonder if it was appropriate to take photo's...and do you know what it was - its what Chris would have done....he would have been chuffed to bits.

A couple of hours at the pub, gave us the time for reflection, a couple of beers, some lovely food and generally sharing our stories.

I am rambling on a bit now, but its just a semblence of my thoughts on this day.

RIP Chris - i hope we did you proud mate.

For me, today was a moving tribute to a fantastic guy who will be missed. Whilst driving in the convoy, I was thinking how much he would have enjoyed seeing so many Cougars together, so many of his friends together and how proud he would have been of the club today.

At the first meet I went to, I was talking to Mike (.cougar571) about how this club was more than just a car club, it was about the amazing friendships generated by a group of people who happen to own the same car.

At the end of the day, cars are just lumps of metal. It is the flesh and blood of the owners, the journeys we travel together - both in good and bad times - and the experiences we share which bring life to this club and make it the fantastic place it is. Today really brought that home to me.

Chris, I hope we did you proud today. Your memory will not fade. Rest in peace.

Difficult to add to what has already been said, nice simple but poignant sevice, an excellent turn out by members, the convoy was quite a moving sight, and organisation of the day with the usual precision by a very dignified Tim. Thankyou to all for giving Chris the send off he deserved.
