South Glos.
Today I received the terrible news that last week Jon lost his battle with the cancer he'd been fighting so valiantly for several years.
Jon loved attending Cougar club events which made it all the more poignant that we should hear of his passing on the day of one of his favourite events; an Action Day at Castle Combe.
He will be sorely missed by his friends in the club and his many friends around the marina in Gosport where he lived.
He posted a video a while ago featuring him in the starring role of his life as 'Elvis', captured for posterity by some of his old band mates; I'm sure he would be happy for us to remember him like so.

I wish I could swear in this section.
Jon fought his illness without complaint and really did live his life to the full - I will miss him greatly.
On this link you can hear him on bass with his old band - I don't think it's any exaggeration to say they could have 'made it'.

Time for a pint - I need it, and Jon's bloody earned it. RIP mate.
🍺🎸

Andy, I know that you were contacted by Samantha(?) about Jon's demise. If she would be okay telling us what his/his family's wishes are to honour him, I am 100% onboard, (pun entirely intentional).

And just as with Al, I am again happy to coordinate - and prove with receipts - a donation to whatever charity that his family and close friends thinks is appropriate.

Thanks Chris.

Sam, Jon's designated next-of-kin and executor of his will, has posted details of Jon's wishes on his Facebook page, kindly forwarded to me by Lisa.
Jon's wish is that there isn't to be an 'attended' service but he has asked for an 'almighty' party to be held in his memory at the Village Home Pub, Alverstoke on Friday 18th of April from 2pm onwards, with all welcome.

I'm hoping to speak directly to Sam in the near future to discuss further Jon's wishes regarding preferred charities for donations etc.
