Al, that is looking sweet mate, who ever the new owner is, he/she is is gonna have a superb looking Coug.

good work Al, the scoop in the corner is looking particularly handsome (y)

Bit of a rare one this Phil.

Looking good Al, was a trial fit done? if so was it a good fit?

No Rich, we didn't have time, but i have a massive pile of bubble wrap and spongy stuff  Hopefully, the fit will be fairly straight forward, though i am prepared for the usual. Sideskirts do need some fairly major butchery though, these will be pre-fitted on the bumper fitting day, then painted and fitted the following weekend.

If the skirts are GRP like mine, then you may be better to bond them onto the car, neatly seal the edges and spray on the car. Fitting GRP skirts so they look tidy once they've been painted is a proper pain in the rear. Especially if they aren't perfect to the car. 3 years of fitting aftermarket kits in a bodyshop tought me that skirts were best bonded on and fully prepped before painting. Otherwise they always look like a cheap add on.

Thanks Kully, this is what i was thinking of doing, although not ideal this weather as it would have to be done outside, too restricted in the garage.
The skirts will defo need a lot trimmed off the door sill area. I was toying with the idea of cutting off the step part from the skirts so that they fit along and parrallel to the top of the sill, bonded as i did my own roush skirts and screwed at each end ie inner wheel arches. I'll see if i can get one in position on my car tomorrow as a photo will explain much easier i think.

Another update:

Rear bumper done and now for some de-nibbing (smoothing and polishing)

Loads of water and 1500 grit wet/dry and plenty of elbow grease, thirsty work this.

Looking good and close to a final polishing. That scoops looking ok aswell :ihih:

Also fitted the meshing to the front bumper today.
This kit is now ready for fitting, minus the side skirts (y)

No worries, also remember to let the bonding agent you use o cure fully before painting over it otherwise you could have a nasty reaction to try and redo. Whether it be Sykaflex or Tiger Seal etc you need to make sure you follow the guides for correct temperatures and cure times absolutely to the letter. Good luck!! A pain in this weather as the temperature is so up and down plus the damp doesn't help.

You have made it worst here Tim.

Nice work again Alan who ever the kit is for its going to look great with the touch of Pid at the healm.

you've done a cracking job their Al, however im not to keen on the kit but the workmanship covers that

Thanks Martyn, each to his own taste, I think this kit is definately an "aquired taste" (y)

Great job there Al. Quite like the kit too. Are there side skirts to go with it ?

Just figured out who's it is too :hand: :D

Yes Nick, sideskirts to go on, we just didn't have time :wink5:

It certainly is Lewy and i reckon i know where it came from too lol

The guy who fitted V6Drifters kit removed the rear bumper too, personally i wouldnt be happy with that, as that big chunk of nylon is the rear impact protection, invalidates your insurance too................
