Cougar prices on the rise...

I truly wish them every success.
I suspect their turn over has grown substantially since their probably unexpected success with the TV program.
Bring back Sarah is my only other comment. I suspect mutiny !

I am a fan of the series.

In business, once successful, the art is balancing supply and demand by pitching the price accordingly. If it’s busy and you can’t meet the demand then increase the prices in order to slow demand and / or pay for additional resource. If it doesn’t reduce demand your better off and you’ve proven the market can withstand the price increase. Thus you can afford to increase staff, both quantity and wages and hopefully meet the demand.

It’s all true.
Due to the shortage of chips from China which became a problem during Covid and continued long after we dealt with it ( ‘Cos our vaccine worked and the China ones were much less effective ) combined with Chinas‘ “ No Covid“ total lock down policy.
The world wide shortage of computer chips meant new cars were in limited supply. Supply and demand economics says scarce stuff costs more. So new car prices were not discounted. This had the knock on effect of increasing used car prices because less used cars got traded in against the new purchase.
Used cars also became scarce and prices went up there too.
Yes, sad as it may be, I find this global economics stuff interesting.
mmm chips! i just hope theirs no shortage of salt and vinegar
ok im really sorry about that but i just had to:rolleyes:

but is anyone else worried about how reliant we are on china..
they don't need to go to war ,they already own us😮

anyway!
the focus mk2 i brought 2 years ago was a black 13 plate 1.6 with 83k on the clock and all the goodies...price £3699
same place last week was
12 plate 98k on clock same model but in white priced at £4799😮..and i couldn't find any cheaper locally..
nearly 5k for a 10+ year old...jees!

It's certainly been eye opening while I've been reassembling my cougars interior, absolutely every component even the smallest bits of plastic was made somewhere in the Americas (North and South) but mainly USA. Nowadays, everything on a car is made in china

Yeh, it's getting silly out there. Prices of Mondeo's (diesel) are starting to go up & up. Cars like my TXS should be around the £3k-£4k, but they are making anything from £6k plus. Loads for sale around the London area due to ULEZ, as they are Euro 5, which doesn't pass emmision levels, as needs to be Euro 6 and above. Mine is Euro 5, so I keep away from ULEZ areas.
