Coug with a Subaru spoiler

Thats true Mike, but part of the reason i am gauging opinions is you can get caught up 'in the moment' and go ahead regardless, before taking a step back and having a considered approach.

It is not a case that i simply wont bother because the consensus says not, but I would be daft to ignore the considered opinions of the good folk of ukcougar.com

Nice to see Si again, hope it will be for a bit longer next time.
The colour match is quite remarkable, coming from a totally different make of car.
I would say fit it... dare to be different, if you decide you don`t like it on ... take it off again., simples.
If we didn`t already have a spoiler on ours (hers) then this would be sitting on there now.

Tbh, I think all spoilers are an "aquired taste" of the individual. Just take a look around, you see all sorts out there, some really nice complimentary spoilers, some abominations, some right royal mostrosities, some tastefull, some subtle, and some, but few, look just right, but that's my opinion, what's yours? ;)

Give us a photo taken from a high front angle and a side on shot Si. It looks like it should mount ok. I think i'd also conside blanking the 3rd brakelight if you intend wiring the spoiler light up.

do you have one of those colour coded 3rd brake lights going spare Al?

Would it be fair to assume that holes drilled to accomodate this spoiler would be roughly the same location as they would be for an OEM spoiler for example?

maybe wire it up to the rear lights rather than the brakes?

Al, i know the view i have provided is limited, but do you think it will fit okay, with a bit of fettling?

Hard to tell from those limited shots Si but potentially I think that it looks very nice (y).....and judging by most of the replies you are hardly likely to get anyone copying you :)

My advice, for what it's worth Si, is DO NOT get caught up in the moment:stop:, rushing into fitting it cos you really want a spoiler & you've bought this one. Once it's on, I strongly doubt you'll find the holes would line up anywhere near an OEM spoiler & if at a later date, you come across a spoiler made for the coog, that you prefer, you may find those holes will need filling & touching up. I'd like to see more shots from different angles, I think it's the way the upper lips of the wing curve up in stark contrast to the curve downwards on the coog's rear quarter, that I'm unsure about personally.

That said, the main thing is whether or not you like it, regardless of what anyone else thinks, if you're gonna go for it, you'll have to be brave Si & ignore other peoples opinions.(y)

It looks a bit BIG Si if you don't mind me saying. Now saying that I quite liked the idea of this spoiler fitted to this C2 below (yes thats the rover paint) was a member.

Or this Wings West one ...also fitted to a C2 :D

I normaly don't ever reply to these types of threads as I believe in the "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything", however on this occasion I will make an exception........Not my cup of tea at all. Doesn't match up with any curves and lines of the Cougar !! lol

However, as has been mentioned before, if you like it, it's your car and you should go for it.
