139 mph!

So that's it, epic tour of Western Europe completed, 6 countries and the Cougar never missed a beat! Average 32.5 MPG over 2,300 miles which is fairly respectable considering some was spent at 139MPH!! An amazing trip and an amazing car to do it in, effortless driving, just need to keep a closer eye on the fuel gague as a quarter did in fact mean empty on the Autobahn which was a little embarrassing but one quick run over a field to a fuel station and an hour later we were off again

Throughout the whole trip only spotted one Cougar, a very tidy red C1 outside Hoffenheim, compare that with over 10 Ferraris, 3 or 4 Aston's and even 4 Capri's making the Cougar a very rare beast indeed

Cara has now had a very well deserved jet wash, always hand wash but it was beyond filthy, but waxed it up afterwards by hand of course

Sounds like an amazing trip. Your coug did you proud. Laughed at the 1/4 tank meaning empty, the coug does seem to have a funny fuel guage, as sonn as mine starts heading that way I go fill up immediately, as you can't go by what the computer says....80 miles until empty, then within 12 miles she starts spluttering lol. Anyway a brilliant trip, which I'm sure was a great adventure.

Sounds like a great road trip and what an ad for the Cougar!
Thanks for your interesting posts during the trip.

Perhaps a German touring UK in his Coug will post that he saw a Laser Red Cougar near Malvern (now that IS rare lol!)

Welcome home! Hope you really enjoyed it.

Obviously I don't know the history of every car here, but certainly when people have talked about their gauge/computer in the past, they've all said that it's extremely pessimistic. Which is to say, the car will say it has 25 miles left (and in the red) when it has double that.

I've even heard of cars going a good 20 miles - out out of necessity - when the car is saying, "Alas! I die!".

I wonder if your float/sender is sticking?
