Just a couple of pics of my new arrival, been driving around for the last couple hours with no issues. Looks like £350 well spent :D V6 X Pack. 96K and MOT till end Nov.
Poor pic's due to the rain but I'll get some better ones asap. IMG_0365.jpgIMG_0364.jpg

Nice ebony you have there Hazel, you can't beat an ebony coug.....but there again, I maybe a little biased lol

Well done Hazel - looks pretty tidy from the pics.

I don't know how long you've been lurking for (or what your level of experience is) but if there are any advisories about corrosion, you need to get under the car and have a good poke around. She's just been through another winter since her last test, so this will be important. In fact, do that anyway even if the ticket was clean.

Welcome to Cougar ownership - hope you can stick around.

Thanks Mako, there was an advisory regarding the dreaded Rear sub frame a couple of years ago, then no mention of it since. So I'm *hoping* it's been replaced. No advisories on the latest MOT but if she passes the next one without costing too much I'll have a full service done and perhaps the brakes looked at/replaced and I'll ask our long suffering and ever patient garage owner to have a look underneath.
The drivers window is stuck down today so the first job is to fix that, it was working yesterday and this morning. Sods. Bloody. Law :D

Hi Hazel, I'm Chris.

Advisories do come and go, and they're subjective depending on who's doing the test. It might also depend on whether VOSA are watching them for fake passes. :cautious:

The rear subframe is genuinely a problem on the Cougar/Mondeo sometimes, but unless you get under there with a tapping hammer you're not really testing it for yourself. Be honest about it. Pay special attention to where the radius arms attach, and also the pointy ends.

The good news is that they cost very little now and are pretty easy to replace.
