That's an Irish plate it's on matey. You could always buy yourself another via the dvla, mine only cost me £399 including £80 transfer fee.

Northern Irish ;)

Well, in that case, apart from making sure the damn thing doesn't explode when I start it...and as it's my first V6; what should I look out for when I check it over? (I already know that the power steering oil pump was changed a few weeks ago and that it needs a rear wheel bearing - incidently, how would I go about changing this; I've heard it's quite easy. I've never moved the brake caliper off a car before erk!)

One of the main things to check is the front wishbones - get yourself under the front of the car and look at the rubber bushes and see if there is any play in them, you can do this by getting someone to rock the steering wheel from left to right. They are pretty expensive and you can't just buy the bushes either, the whole thing has to be replaced. I've just done one of mine and it cost £144 including the pinch bolts (not including cost of labour to have it done). I have seen some of these wishbones make as much as £300 per side, depending on where you buy from.

Cheers, Wild. I'll make sure I check that on the next one I look at - the guy went and sold it before me going to see it tomorrow as we'd arranged. He texted me today after I left him a message confirming we were still meeting. Bah.

That's a shame, but there are plenty out there to choose from. Make sure you have a good look at a couple or more and don't just buy the first one you come across (unless it's a good'un of course! lol). He really should have phoned you the minute he sold it, as that's just polite, that's what I would have done if I'd been in his shoes. Oh well...lol

Yeah, it's no problem really. This was the second one that was on the cards. The first being a Zetec C2 with high miles I actually went to see and walk away from. I've now got another potential ebony (the best colour) V6, but I won't know for sure until next week. Until then I'm keeping my options open!! Watch this space! LOL
